Thanks for all the help, guys. I wasn't really targeting anything. I grew up fishing the gulf coast near St. Marks, and was able to catch Cobia, trout, reds, etc. without targeting a specific species. I guess that's not quite the case down here.
FuzzyBruce: Thanks for the invite. I'll definately take you up on the offer. I'll probably head down that way between the 26th and 29th.
Krash: There is a sign that identifies the launch site as a park, stating that it closes at dark. There were no signs warning of private property, nor threatening towing. I've only been twice now, but have never had any trouble. Parked on the side of the road.
Again, thanks for the help. I've got a couple of buddies coming down to visit soon, and was hoping to put them on some fish. It seems like it is very difficult to catch bones and permit, but I haven't seen the first redfish or trout. I'm wondering what we should target. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to go fishing more often! I plan on hitting up some areas nearby, possibly trying some canals for peacocks, in the next few days, as I need to recoup from this skunking.
