I genrally carry two fly rods, not in different line weights, but in different sinking rates. I load one with a floater (8 weight) and one with a sink tip, also 8-weight. Even though I fish the flats, the currents in some of the channels require a fast sinker if I want to fish the bottom. One of the sinking lines has a 24-foot fast sinking (heavy) tip, which tend to overload an 8-weight rod, so I use a 10-weight slow tip rod, which allows me to double-haul about 30 feet of line for a longer cast.
I installed two Scotty flush mount rod bases behind me and one in front on my Prowler 13. When fly fishing I use the one on the left side for storage and the one in the center as the active rod holder. I also use an anchor trolley along the left side to the stern, so that the wind is over my left shoulder when I cast.
