Just returned from vacation in corpus christi tx. 1500 mile drive one way ,thanks to FBO for helping me with my Thule rack, those guys went out of there way to help me with it.
Fishing was outstanding, they just opened a pass between the intercoastal and the gulf ,that they talked about for 20 years . Best thing they ever did.
Fished of of my kayak 3 days in a row. This is no lie I caught Over 100 specks a day ,in the same spot with in a 400 yard square flat. Very few were under 15 and 1/8 inch. The limit was 15 to 25 and one over. I caught my limit all three days ,which was 10. My largest was a fat 24 , and I caught it on 4lb test and a 1/8 oz jig .
I had at least one or two kayaker that fished by me each day and there was plenty of fish to go around.Kayaking has realy taken off there.I was at Academy buying my fishing license and saw them carry out 8 kayaks .All were OK specks ,which I have never heard of I think they were fishing vesions of the scrambler
Oh yea , caught lots of Reds but were all around 18 inches.Still lots of fun. Used white , or yellow and red head mirror lures.First day use red worm with orange tail
