I got the cam from Sharper Image with a 2 gig flash card. It was about 200 bucks total. The cam works pretty well. You can take an hour of footage with the 2 gig card. The sound is a little tricky ... sometimes great...sometimes not. The cam comes with a zillion straps and attachments gizmos. I used the one for handlebars for the Yak mounting. It's water proof to 3 meters but I haven't tested that .. and it weighs just 4 ozs.

I took and old bunge hook end and a washer and tightened the hook end against the rod holder. Then and old plastic broom top over the bungee hole in the hook.  Then just slipped the handle bar fitting over the broom top. The handle bar fitting is adjustable so it fits snugly. I then added a thin bungee from the bungee hook to the handle bar attachment for good measure.

I also added a bungee clip with a well nut to the center console to batten down my soft side cooler and extra water. It's pretty handy and there's still plenty of room for my big feet. (6'2" 240). I heightend the Scotty holder with an old vacuum cleaner attachment that fits like it was custom made. Dog not included.

Here's a side view of the rig up. It's completely steady and you can rotate the camera and lock it in -  in almost any position. You can roll it over and flip the business end back toward you for those crotch shots and fish close ups.

Here's the whole thing coming at you like the "Yak of Doom" that it is .. at least that's how I refer to it.

The best part about the helmet cam is you can prove you're not a liar while you taunt other Yak fisherman. Not that any of you guys would lie.

Never get out of the boat.

(Capn's Note: Awesome!  Edited to show two of IF's pics)

That mounted cam is kool, does it swivel, Jacks love to circle the boat.

Hey fishhead, you paddling in H-wood this weekend ?

I been away in Jersey all week, and heading to SAnibel on Sunday.... need a yak fix and if I can sneak out I may paddle on Sat. morning for a few hours.

That place you launch, does it open/close ?

krash ... it swivels and rotates. You can pretty much move it to any position depending on how you mount it.

I'll be out at Holland Park around 7 AM tomorrow. The official gate open time is 8AM but most of the time it's open before then on the weekend. Just go as far East as you can on Johnson street.

The tide isn't going to be great I think it's dead low around 10 AM. I don't care .. it's still yakking. If there's no fish I'll take movies of you leaving me in the dust .. lol

If you miss me .. you'll know I'm out there by my car. You'll know which one it is .... it's as weird as me.

A flat stake, thats one reason I want to paddle, gotta test out the pvc stakeout pole I made.

10:00 AM Low tide is perfect for flats fishng, you get the last of the outgoing and first of the incoming.

too bad you couldn't get out. I waited around for you in the lake for a while. Give me a shout when you're able again.

I was ready to pull my hair out today. I have never seen so much fish sign. Mullets were practically jumping in the Yak. Of course I got completely skunked.

Check this vid.

SneakyFish

You can see a Tarpon rolling in the lower right hand corner. Westlake will be mine .. Oh yes, Westlake will be mine.

Never get out of the boat.

Looked like it was following your bait. I like to catch a couple mullet and cut them in chunks throw them out when you see em, to keep them in the area. You may have a second chance.

I was going to go Sat. but slept too late, today I am smoking 10lbs of Dolphin,2lbs of Scallops,3lbs of shrimp which will take most of the day.
