Well, this really is not my fishing report but close enough....
Cari my gf and another friend took out two of my kayaks late yesterday afternoon on a falling tide, worked their way to some flats at the mouth of the waterway we live on and managed 4 snook to 25'' , a rather large red she lost at boatside cause she forgot the boga grip, and a dink trout.
She complete her west coast slam by casting only her gold spoon.

Nice goin Luis. Next to the boat is good enough for catch n release anyway. Especially if its a 20 lb cuda....

Hey Capt, the sad part all this happened while I was WORKING!
Need to make time to join her next time as the fishing around here is getting hot, white bait is everywhere, tarpon in the harbor and snook and reds can be found all over the place.
Neighbor across canal paddles a Tarpon 160 has has 5, 9 , and 4 snook on three consecutive days in same area gf fished.
Need to get out soon,

Well you got my attention... anybody who has access to Luis' side of Paradise would do well to hook up with him... a good yakfisher who really knows the water....

Snook Is not on the plate for it is a top, bottom and mid feeder. #### anyone can catch a snook!

There are 4 different slams in Florida, and flounder are not part of any of them.

North Florida: redfish, spotted seatrout, cobia
West Coast: redfish, snook, tarpon
South Florida: bonefish, tarpon, permit
East Coast: redfish, tarpon, spotted seatrout

You can call up the Fish and Wildlife commission at 850-488-6058 and get an official certificate. No actual proof of fish (POF) required.

As always, RDS is almost correct, lol. Let us not forget the ever popular "Trash Can Slam". This is NOT listed by the FWC, but IS sanctioned by the famous Ft. Lauderdale Yakfishin Club. Pictures ARE required, and all entries will receive the special edition, low-vis FLYC yak sticker.

I love the trash can slam except for the lady fish. Both the sailcat and jack are good table fare. Everytime someone says they are not I simply ask them if they have ever cooked one.... never is always the answer.
In the great book by Vic Dunaway "From Hook to Table" he outlines these old fables and says how good they are so I tried it and they are good, great in fact....so if you do happen to achieve the FLYC slam remember that lunch or dinner is always a possibility.

Pal, it's true the Ladyfish is not for the table but if there's one fish that, pound-for-pound, comes close to the Jack for being a tough fighter, it's the Lady.

Will never forget the time Joe, Sue Sea and I repeatedly drifted the channel in 20 knot winds leading to Rookery Bay, catching 4 to 5 big Lady's each time, 'til our arms fell off. A couple of these were near records, but who cares. An awesome day.

Funny you mentioned cookin Jacks. We all love to catch em, but release a fish almost all of us overlook as a keeper. Catch one in front of anyone from the Carribean and they'll ask for it, my pleasure. Great link, and mouthwatering recipes, thanks...
