Went fishin out of Goodland Bay yesterday (highway 92 at bridge to Marco Island). Beautiful weather. On my first blind cast toward a little islet 1/4 mile from the bridge with a gold spoon I got a nice splash, saw about an 18'' redfish but no hookup. I managed to catch a 15" one (my first red ever) just drifting a jig through a channel, plus a few catfish to slime up everything. The water was still murky from the front and I seem to have done better than most of the motorized craft I talked to. I did get to see a bald eagle in flight, which was neat.

I've decided I definitely need some official maps when going into the 10K islands. The ones I make from resources online just don't have the detail you need. I usually figured out where I actually went after looking at the maps carefully on shore- generally it was not where I had intended. Bread crumb trails on the way in would be nice if it were'nt for the tides.

I liked how Goodland Bay looked when I was there last. Glad to know someone likes it!
