SuperFly--Just wanted to let you know how things worked out for the rest of the trip.  Unfortunately, the fishing remained slow through the rest of my stay at Flamingo.  I hooked a tarponette of all of 12" on Thurs. to break my skunk and then landed a 22" on Fri. while also losing 3 between 22-25".  That was a blast and that's what gets my blood going during the winter months.  I don't know why things were so slow this trip and why no snook, just tarpon.  West Lake with the Derelicts was fun but came up empty.  It sure looked fishy.  I am even more humble than I have been in the past when thinking about success fly fishing in FLA.  Whether or not one week a year is reasonable is something I'll think about next winter.  Logistically, it's not an easy trip, but it sure gave me plenty of time for contemplation and recharging my batteries.   Your Keys trip sounded interesting and I think that's something my wife would go for, also. Thanks for your help and encouragement. I hope to give it another shot in the future.  SteveC

Hey Steve,

Glad to hear you caught some tarpon, that makes the trip worth it, right? :)

Element looks great, too bad we couldn't have had them both together.

Love the crocodile pic and the rattlesnake! Good shots.

Let me know when you're back in town.
