I'm not a big hole driller...
We are all familiar with this inexpensive Igloo cooler (that comes with a pivoting white top. Just hacksaw the cover off, mount two PVC rocket launchers with a SS bolt thru the bottom (acts as rod rest), wireties up top. Add two wireties on the centerline and they will hold a dive type flag. Drill holes in the bottom for drainage.
Fit beautifully in the ProTW tankwell, allows for easy carrying of two rods and gear. I have often carried and trolled two rods. The positioning is perfect, up high and dry, near the centerline and away from the paddling stroke, and an easy half turn to either side to grab a rod.
It's red, nice and visible, and has fairly reasonable windage.
Only thing I'd add would be one or two eyelet bolts on each side, down low, to use for attaching cooler to the yak. Currently I just run a couple bungies (or straps in the older Pro) over the cooler.
I've used this cooler for years and I love it's ease, convenience and effectiveness. Build for maybe $15 or 20.
