Lookin for a great place to kayak, observe some of the fastest human powered craft on the water, gawk at hot models and photoshoots and enjoy $2 beers at Jimbo's?
For the next two months the Florida East Coast Racing series will take place every Saturday morning at 9 am. These are fishy waters and you will have a blast exploring the fishy flats and nearby channels. You can even take a break on the newly opened Fisher Island beaches (east side of the Island).
Quote | When: every Saturday morning at 9AM for the months of December and January.
Where: Virginia Key Beach State Park, Virginia Key, FL 33139
I-95 to Rickenbacker Causeway exit (Key Biscayne). Take causeway to Virginia Key Beach State Park exit on your left after the Marine Stadium. Pay toll and proceed to last beach entrance on your right where road splits, we will be next to the life guard stand.
Why: fun series, there will be no fee, prizes or food, so bring your own provisions. 8 mile open ocean triangle course. We will keep time. There will be a Championship race on Sat. Feb. 9 with entrance fee and prizes at same location.
Who: all OC1's; OC2's; surfskis; paddleboarders; and stand-up paddlers welcome.

The OC's are outrigger canoes. Most of you know what surfskis and paddleboards are, but few are aware of a growing trend to stand up wave skis. Pics later...
