Note that the picture is slinging a yak of fiberglass or other composite. If you sling a HDPE (milk bottle) from the ends, it may deform under its own weight.
(Capn's Note: exactly so Al, thank you. This is a very good support for any kayak, but as noted the slings (wide straps please) must be kept away from the ends. A good placement for any kayak, but particularly plastic yaks would be just behind the seat (in the stern) and near the forward foot wells (toward the bow). This positioning is usually near the scupper pass throughs which offer good support. Some would also recommend hangin the kayak on it's side for even more support.)
