Yet another GW outcome...

Yup, it's true.  Giant jellyfish are invading the west coast just like red algae.  Many jellies of a foot or so are covering the beaches in huge numbers.  Many up to four feet have been seen by divers in deeper waters.

The number and size of these undulating creatures is unprecedented.  In related news, jellies up to 450 lbs are in great abundance off the coast of Japan - so much so that their commercial fishing has been affected.

Scientists attribute this to both global warming of the seas.  In Florida the GW related drought means that jellies are able to breed much more prolificly inshore, as there is much less fresh water runoff.
